Our November club meeting will include a special treat: some of us will be gathering about an hour earlier than normal, around 1 p.m., to build a fire pit for the Quarry Gardens. We might also stay late after the walk for an inaugural fire with some spooky campfire stories.

As with all our walks, all skill levels are welcome! Typically, we meet in the visitor center or under the pavilion for announcements. Then we will take a walk in the woods to find, document, and collect specimens. After the walk, we convene to investigate our collections, work on identification, and do a brief educational “table talk,” where we share our knowledge about specific mushrooms.
